Taiwan vs Local Bridal Shop

After been through both photoshoot and photo selection with Lishe & "XYZ" local bridal shop ( I was told not to publish the name of the local bridal shop), I can say there's really a vast difference between them:

1) Gown Selection:

Lishe: Gown selection was a breeze as the staff knew exactly what to recommend based on your preferred feel and colours. I just need to tell them the colours I want, and the staff came back with a few gowns for me to try. What's more, the gowns are plentiful and pretty and I was given undivided attention throughout. Within 2 hours, I had settled the selection and alteration, ready for the shoot next day.

Local bridal shop: Gown selection was a big headache ~  Gowns are old, some are torn, and limited choices & colours to choose from. I was told that the torn part and dull colours can be made up with photoshoot skills. Super rolled eyes. But I tell you, that really dampen my mood to choose the gowns.

To add on, the staff dun really know what the shop has, and my frens had to comb through the rack to help me find.  Further, a lot of waiting time as the staff had to do other stuff and I had to wait for her to come and helped me zipped up the gown etc. Mind you, I spent like 5 hours (with the help of my frens) to settle the gown selection only. Super exhausted.

2) Photo Selection:

Lishe: Photos were ready for selection the next day after our photoshoot, super efficient. We were given ample time to see through the photos, and yes I topped up because I was satisfied with both the service and the photos.

They took over 300 photos for me to choose, which made choosing much easier because you will need similiar photos taken at the same site to make a concept, what they call storyboard to do the photo album.

Local bridal shop: I'm already not satisfied with their service. To pissed me further, they totally forgotten my photo selection appointment. On the day itself, I was asked to sit at one corner, with no drinks served, not even mineral water, while they tried to find the hardcopy photos but in vain.

I was shown the soft copy after dunno how long, and then the staff came and kept saying " Oh, the photos are so nice blah blah blah". I almost wanted to throw my hp at her to shut her up but decided that my hp is much more precious to waste on her.

Photos of the same concept was limited. Let's say 5 photo, so if I dun like 3 out of the 5, I have to give up that concept. Great.

Anyway I have to go back local bridal shop to choose the photos after they developed them. Seriously, I think I have problem choosing 28 photos. And yes, 28 photos are what they gave me in my package. Super stingy. But perhaps they have foresight, that I may not choose more than 28 photos afterall.

I dunno, if I have not taken the Taiwan package and will have no comparison, perhaps I will just make do with whatever the local bridal shop gives. But too bad, that's not the case.  *Shrugged*

********

In short, I personally felt that my wedding shoot in Taiwan was definitely more enjoying, stress free and super efficient. Staff were professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Perhaps I was unlucky that my local photo shoot turned out a bad experience. And worse, it was still "haunting" me 1 year later - I was told to remove all related negative reviews.

Looking back, I should have just went for a Taiwan package and just take a 30 photos album for memory sake and that's it. Why? All the wedding photos are now stored away waiting to grow mould, money could have been better spent on the new house, a holiday trip etc and of coz, save me from the not-so-good experience. Oh well, let's just move on, stop harping me.
